Liz Jones has been my mentor for the past 4 years at the William Penn Charter School. I can say without hyperbole that she is the most impactful mentor I’ve ever had the good fortune to know. The trepidation I had about suddenly starting a new job was erased and replaced by her infectious joy. Liz invites you IN. And once you’re in her circle, you grow. You think. You heal. You wonder things you’ve never wondered before. You are blessed with nuggets of wisdom that remain with you forever.

Liz became the architect of restorative practices across our Upper School. She did not wait to be asked; she saw a need for a better way to address conflict and harm among students, and she built it herself, from the ground up. She designed and taught a restorative practices curriculum for our incoming ninth graders, trained faculty in circle facilitation and affective language, and led mediation conferences and re-entry processes that consistently helped students take accountability while preserving their dignity. The result was measurable: stronger classroom and school climates and reflective students. Liz’s judgment was stellar when we needed protocols for responding to bias and harmful incidents with the transparency, care, and speed our families deserved, and her guidance shaped how our school communicated in some of its most sensitive moments.

Liz is someone who genuinely cares about the people around her and is always willing to offer thoughtful advice, professional guidance, or words of encouragement exactly when they are needed. Liz's ability to bring joy to those around her. Her positivity is contagious, and her kindness has made a lasting difference in my experience at this school.

Restorative Practices Consultant, Culture Strategist & Educator

Liz believes every classroom can feel kinder, and more human. That belief shapes everything she does.

For 27 years, Liz has worked beside teachers and school leaders to build classrooms where students feel safe and seen. Her work is hands-on and real. She created the 80 Play Days program, which brought play and connection to more than 400 students and staff, boosting connections across grades, sports, and academics.

Liz does not hand you a binder and walk away. She listens first, works right alongside you, and helps you find small changes that make a big difference. Teachers say her support actually feels human. That is the whole point.
